The AWELE (African Women Engineering Leadership and Entrepreneurship) Academy – the first coding school for African girls, targeting post University girls especially with computer Science and Engineering background!
The AWELE Academy provides a 14-week intensive coding boot camp that trains girls in employable, cutting edge computer programming skills that are relevant and in hot demand in the market place, and helps to place them with technology companies (local and global) who are seeking to employ female Africans as software engineers.
The curriculum is focused on highly in-demand and immediately employable technical coding skills including MEAN.IO Stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, AngularJS, NodeJS.), Advanced Web Development {Front (Javascript) and Back End (PhP, Python)}, Mobile Development on ios, windows & android and big data analytics. Additionally our curriculum will also focus on Leadership Development (in partnership with LEAP Africa) and Entrepreneurship(in partnership with the Lagos Business School Entrepreneurship Program).
Additionally, AWELE provides career counselling, assistance with job placement and connection to startup funds/venture capital for entrepreneurial students. We expect 100% of our students to be fully employed as highly skilled software engineers within 90 days of graduation.
Our first cohort starts July 1 2016, and I am asking for your help in spreading the message in order to help our recruitment effort.
Application has opened and can be completed HERE
